Forget Screen Size; Apple (AAPL) iPhone 5 Boom-Chicka-Wow-Wow is all about this...

It seems investors can't get enough information about Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) new phone, the iPhone 5, with all its whizz-bang technology and fresh new design. However, investors may be overlooking a critical piece of information regarding the iPhone 5 launch, and no – it isn't the size of the screen. It is Qualcomm's (NASDAQ: QCOM) fifth generation Gobi chipset platform, which, according to their corporate press release, would "support regional LTE frequencies with backwards compatibility to existing 2G/3G technologies."

This many not sound like whizz-bang news, but it could make all the difference in the success in the iPhone 5 in China. What this means is that the iPhone 5 device would allow it to support China Mobile's network, which it currently does not. In fact, the iPhone 4s doesn't support most networks in China. Unfortunately, this isn't an easy solution to solve technically since it would require SCDMA networks compatibility with the incompatible iPhone WCDMA technology.

However, if Qualcomm's new chip comes in contact with China Mobile's network, good things might happen for Apple and for Apple investors. How good? Think chocolate and peanut butter.
