Amazon unveiled its latest product line Thursday, including an updated Kindle and Kindle Fire as it looks to beef up for competition with Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) and Google (Nasdaq: GOOG). The new Kindle Fire HD will have an 8.9” high definition screen, dual antennas and a front facing camera. A 4G version of the Kindle Fire HD will also be sold for $499 and a 250 MB monthly data plan will can be purchased for $49.99 per year. Additionally, an updated version of the smaller, 7” Kindle Fire that sells for $159 will be made available. An "X-Ray" feature will be available for movie viewed on the Kindle Fire, allowing users to read factoids about the actors and production by viewing the movie. Amazon said last week that it had sold out of the Kindle Fire which was originally launched last November. A self lighting version of the Kindle e-reader is en route, following the release of Barnes & Noble’s (NYSE: BKS) e-reader launched last year with similar technology
