Shares of Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL) are ticking higher in early trading amid reports that transfer time between the launch of its next iPhone in the U.S. and the launch in China might be cut down.
Employees of China Unicom (NYSE: CHU) said the sixth-generation iPhone -- "the Cinco" -- will debut on its network before the end of 2012.
The time frame compares with the launch of iPhone 4S, which was released in the U.S. in October 2011, but didn't hit mainland China until January 2012.
Launching the device in November/December would also boost holiday sales for Apple, though Chinese citizens generally splurge more on gifts during two-week long New Year celebrations in January and February.
