Neonode Inc (Nasdaq: NEON) has entered into a multi-year licensing agreement with Alpine Electronics Inc., a leading automotive systems and audio specialist, to embed Neononde’s patented MultiSensing™ technology, that includes the Neonode AlwaysON™ and proximity features, into Alpines In-Vehicle Infotainment System products.
The Neonode MultiSensing™ solution is a robust optical touch technology, particularly suitable for vehicle displays. Unlike other touch solutions, it detects any type of object, like a gloved hand or a car key. In addition, the Neonode AlwaysON™ power saving feature enables gesture activated wake-up of the screen when it is in sleep or off mode. The solution also includes a proximity function that senses objects up to 4 inches away, supporting multi “air gesture” commands without having to actually touch the display surface.
