Nokia Corp. (NYSE: NOK) has a little bit of bright news Monday, though shares are still markedly lower on the session.
According to Worldwide Developer Relations VP Richard Harris, Nokia's Lumia Windows Phone will start selling on Verizon (NYSE: VZ) soon. No specific time frame was given from Harris.
Currently, Lumia models are only available on AT&T (NYSE: T) and T-Mobile's network.
The top-of-the-line Lumia 900 runs on 4G networks and boasts Carl Zeiss Lens Optics and 8MP camera.
Aside from the 900, reports of a 910 and 1001 are also starting to surface via access through Nokia's Remote Device Access (RDA) tool, with the models running on dual-core chips.
Whether or not customers will rush out to buy the Windows Phone 7-based model with Windows Phone 8 recently demoed and Windows 8 set for release in October is debatable. At $99, the device is a steal, but carriers may have to reduce that to $50 or zero if they want to push excess inventory.
Nokia shares are still down over 4 percent on the session Monday.
