Google's (GOOG) Share of the Search Market Edged Higher to 66.7% in May; Microsoft (MSFT) at 15.4%, Yahoo! (YHOO) at 13.4%

comScore (Nasdaq: SCOR) issued search-engine rankings for the month of May Wednesday afternoon (point change is year over year):
  • Google (Nasdaq: GOOG) sites captured 66.7 percent of the total search market, up 0.2;
  • Microsoft (Nasdaq: MSFT) sites held 15.4 percent, unchanged;
  • Yahoo! (Nasdaq: YHOO) sites held 13.4 percent, down 0.1;
  • IAC/InterActive's (Nasdaq: IACI) Ask Network held 3.0 percent, unchanged; and
  • AOL (NYSE: AOL) sites controlled 1.5 percent of the market, down 0.1.
comScore showed 17.5 billion explicit core searches were conducted in May (up 2 percent), with Google Sites ranking first with 11.7 billion (up 3 percent). Microsoft Sites ranked second with 2.7 billion searches (up 2 percent), followed by Yahoo! Sites with 2.3 billion (up 1 percent).
