Shares of Wal-Mart (NYSE: WMT) are performing well Thursday, posting fresh multi-year highs ahead of its annual shareholders meeting on Friday, where execs are expected to face down angry investors.
The move higher is surprising to some, considering the controversies surrounding bribery allegations in Mexico. Recently, several shareholders and pension funds have vowed to vote against some or all directors in the wake of the allegations.
Despite the fuss, the stock is up 1.4 percent to 66.34 this morning, a multi-year high for the big-box retailer.
