Facebook (Nasdaq: FB) will now allow you to take photos of your disgust with its IPO and share them with your friends (relatives and clients, too) with its new app for Apple's (Nasdaq: AAPL) iPhone.
Named Facebook Camera, the app comes following the surprise $1 billion acquisition of Instagram made just a few months ago.
Features of the new app include: editing software, the ability to take multiple photos at once, photo filters (which may be filed under editing, but worth a mention here since Instagram built a pretty solid business model from photo filtering), and, of course, the ability to quickly share images on Facebook.
The app will compete directly with Instagram, which is still available as a separate download. Reasoning is the Facebook team in charge of creating the Facebook Camera app did not know about plans to acquire Instagram ahead of time.
Shares of Facebook are indicated for a lower open Friday.
