Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on Amazon.com (NASDAQ: AMZN) price target of $285.00.
Analyst, Brian Nowak, said, "After having been on the sidelines since our initiation in November 2011, we are beginning to see clouds part in the AMZN investment case, as we believe we have been under-appreciating the growing and expansive drivers within AMZN’s gross margin."
"Our previous Neutral rating was predicated on heavy investment and opex pressure…which we expect to continue. That said, we believe the company’s last two quarterly results are a sign of Amazon’s shifting point of leverage, as gross margins expanded by 34bp and 114bp in 4Q:11 and 1Q:12."
