Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on AFLAC (NYSE: AFL) price target of $58.00.

Analyst, Jay Gelb, said, "We view AFL as one of the strongest franchises in the Life Insurance industry with the highest ROE yet it currently has a P/E of 6.2x our 2013 EPS estimate, which is below the sector P/E. We expect AFL's EPS growth to rebound in 2013 driven by consistent earnings growth in Japan and the U.S. with a modest benefit from share buybacks. AFL is nearly finished with de-risking its investment portfolio, which should remove a negative overhang."

Barclays sees FY13 EPS if $6.90 ($6.97 ex-FX effects) and sees 2013 new sales growth decline by 8% in Japan, but increase 5% in the U.S.
