Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 05/09: (ARNA) (DIS) (DF) High; (PCS) (CQB) (STEC) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Arena Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ARNA) high of $3.89. Ahead of the bell, BMO Capital upgraded Arena from Market Perform to Outperform, boosting its price target from $1 to $7.

    The upgrade follows yesterday's FDA briefing documents related to weight loss drug Locaserin. The documents come ahead of the May 10th FDA AdCom.

  • Walt Disney Co. (NYSE: DIS) high of $45.80. After the market closed Tuesday, Disney reported second-quarter EPS of 58 cents on revs of $9.629 billion, versus expectations calling for ESP of 55 cents and revs of $9.56 billion. For more color on the results, click here.

  • Dean Foods Co. (NYSE: DF) high of $14.45. Dean Foods beat first-quarter EPS views by 10 cents and also boosted its fiscal 2012 EPS range from 87 - 95 cents up to $1.10 - $1.20. The Street was modeling for 95 cents. Shares up 13.6 percent to the new mark.

  • Tangoe, Inc. (Nasdaq: TNGO) high of $23.05. Tangoe beat first-quarter views, issuing in-line guidance for Q212 and FY12 in the process. Shares moved nearly 20 percent to the new high.
52-Week Low:
  • MetroPCS (NYSE: PCS) low of $6.32. Coincidentally, after touching a new 52-week low, PCS shares ripped higher midday amid reports its might be in cahoots with Deutsche Telekom over a potential deal with T-Mobile. Following that news, PCS shares ripped 31 percent to their highest point since, sadly, just mid-April.

  • Chiquita Brands International, Inc. (NYSE: CQB) low of $5.01. Chiquita Brands missed first-quarter views by 28 cents per share, though revenue beat expectations. The stock was downgraded by three firms Wednesday morning.

  • STEC, Inc. (Nasdaq: STEC) low of $6.53. STEC reported a wider-than-expected first-quarter 2012 loss of 17 cents, while seeing second-quarter sales below expectations. Shares dipped 15 percent Wednesday.
