UBS maintains a 'Neutral' on TravelCenters of America (NYSE: TA) price target from $6.75 to $5.50.

Analyst, Michael Lasser, said, "On a same-site basis, TA made more money on fuel gross margin on less fuel sales volume YoY due to a higher gross profit per gallon rate. Regarding nonfuel, the comapny noted that improvements in the trucking industry have led to increased traffic and customer spending. Mild weather led to lower labor services (along with cigarette price changes), which weighed on the non-fuel margin."

"TA has been making opportunistic acquisitions: During 1Q, TA agreed to acquire six TravelCenters locations for about $26 million (1 in GA for $5 mm, 1 in Scranton, PA from a former franchisee for $7.1 mm, 4 in IN (3 from a former franchisee) for $14 mm."

UBS raises FY12 EPS estimate from $1.11 to $1.17, but lowers FY13 from $1.72 to $1.33.
