UBS maintains a 'Buy' on American Capital Agency (NASDAQ: AGNC) price target raised from $29 to $31.

Analyst, Dean Choksi, said, "AGNC reported 1Q core EPS of $1.30 (ex a $0.12 benefit from reducing CPR forecasts) beating our $1.15 est and $1.19 consensus. Results benefited from a 15bp decline in funding costs and about a ½ turn higher leverage. Book value grew 5% q/q to $29.06 due to price appreciation on prepay protected securities. AGNC trimmed into strength generating realized gains and an additional $204m of undistributed taxable income which rose to $384m or $1.28 per share."

Choksi raises FY12 EPS estimate from $4.58 to $5.33 and FY13 from $4.57 to $4.89.
