Needham & Company maintains a 'Buy' on LeapFrog (NYSE: LF) price target raised from $7 to $11.

Analyst, Sean McGowan, said, "LF’s 1Q results were significantly above expectations and guidance. Sales rose 81% YoY to $72 mm vs. consensus of $51 mm and guidance of $48-$52 mm. Growth was mainly fueled by LeapPad, which carried over strong holiday momentum into 1Q. GM improved 11.7 points YoY to 41.3% of sales as a result of leverage and a more favorable sales mix."

"We have raised our 2012 EPS estimate by $0.05, from $0.60 to $0.65, less than the 1Q “beat” as we expect opex for the balance of the year to exceed earlier estimates. More importantly, we now see 2013 EPS of $0.75, up from our prior estimate of $0.65, and 2014 EPS of $0.95, much higher than our prior estimate of $0.60."
