UBS maintains a 'Buy' on Whole Foods Market (NASDAQ: WFM) price target lowered from $100 to $104.

Analyst, Jason DeRise, said, "Whole Foods beats and raises, consensus estimates likely to rise 4%-6%: WFM reported Q2 12FY EPS of $0.64 vs consensus of $0.59 and UBSe $0.60. It raised the mid point of its comp sales guidance by ~50bps from 8.2% to 8.9% and increased its EPS guidance by $0.15-$0.16 to $2.44-$2.47 (consensus will likely increase by 4%-6%). The new guidance supports our view that consensus fades growth rates too soon (both in H2 12FY and beyond)."

"We increase our above consensus EPS for 12FY by 2.2% (to $2.48) and 13FY by 4.6% (to $2.48/$2.97, respectively). A higher starting point for gross margins provides more fuel to drive faster comp sales growth as GM% is gradually reduced back to 34%-35%."
