Due to Impending ACICS Decision, Career Education (CECO) Shifts Q1 Reporting Date

Career Education Corporation (Nasdaq: CECO) expects an impending decision by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) with respect to its show cause directive. The Company intends to issue a Form 8-K upon receipt of the decision. To provide the opportunity to present information regarding the decision, the Company has moved the release of its first quarter 2012 financial results to after market close on Thursday, May 10, 2012 and will host a conference call Friday, May 11, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. Eastern time.
