Nomura Securities reiterates a 'Buy' on CONSOL Energy (NYSE: CNX) price target of $45.00.
Analyst, Curt Woodworth, said, "The CNX 1Q conference call was hard to characterize, but odd would be a good place to start. The significant focus deciphering the relatively weak LV ASP relative to benchmark overshadowed very strong thermal volume guidance and a much faster restart at Blacksville than forecast. Also, the recovery in spot met prices and stabilization in pig iron trends in Europe enabled the restart of the Buchanan mine, CNX's most profitable business segment. We are increasing 2012 EPS estimates from $1.30 to $1.65, as we had assumed Blacksville to be down the remainder of the year."
