Allot Communicaton (ALLT) Acqusition of Ortiva Wirless Could Be a Boon - Analyst

According to recent reports, IP technology services company, Allot Communications Ltd. (NASDAQ: ALLT), is in talks to buy Ortiva Wireless, a video optimization vendor. Oppenheimer equity research says the potential acquisition could provide Allot Communications with critical video technology and improve the company's video optimization capabilities.

Oritva's key technologies "include application aware bandwidth allocation, client buffer management, content aware bandwidth reduction, and network aware adoption," according to the Oppenheimer report.

The analysts at Oppenheimer conclude that "Given our knowledge of Ortiva, we suspect the potential transaction would be small (tens of millions of dollars) with no material impact to [ATTL] top line."

Oppenheimer has a OUTPERFORM rating on ALLT.
