Needham & Company maintains a 'Hold' on JAKKS Pacific (NASDAQ: JAKK).

Analyst, Sean McGowan, said, "JAKK reported 1Q results above our expectations and guidance. While acknowledging our estimates were likely conservative prior
to the report (Sales $65 mm; EPS loss of $0.64) we were surprised by actual 1Q sales of $73.4 mm and EPS of -$0.62...Although 1Q EPS were only $0.02 above our estimate, we raise our 2012 EPS estimate by $0.05 to $1.05 because
amortization costs are likely to remain below prior estimates. Similarly, we raise our ‘13 EPS estimate from $1.20 to $1.25, and have raised our ‘14 EPS estimate from $1.15 to $1.35."

"We maintain our Hold rating, as we believe the current price fairly discounts earnings prospects, but we note that with Monsuno’s solid launch, and Oaktree’s moves, we see little near-term downside risk to the shares."
