Needham & Company reiterated its Buy rating and $160 price target on salesforce.com (NYSE: CRM), noting two M&A data points this week (Yammer/OneDru & Citrix/Podio) defines the importance of enterprise social.

"We believe that some recent M&A this past Wednesday points to the rising strategic importance of Enterprise Social, which in our view represents a compelling investable theme and also a significant demand tailwind to CRM."

"We have always thought that a key Salesforce Chatter advantage was its deep ties into Salescloud/Servicecloud prospect/customer data objects. While this remains a source of Chatter advantage, we can easily recognize the importance of collaborations over files within groups (such as that enabled by OneDrum/Yammer), which likely represents more of a catalyst for enterprise-wide adoption."
