Solar stocks are getting bludgeoned again Thursday after a noted analyst said more bankruptcy in the sector are coming over the next 2-3 quarters.

Chardan analyst Jay Srivatsa said the outlook for the sector is "dismal" and even large companies like First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) are idling production lines and still others have suspended commercial production.

Srivatsa remains bearish on the sector and doesn't expect a snap back until later this year.

Shares of First Solar are down 3 percent, while the sector is flat at represented by ETF Guggenheim Solar (NYSE: TAN).
