Well, here's more good news for Apple (Nasdaq: AAPL).
ACI Research analyst Ed Zabitsky said Microsoft's (Nasdaq: MSFT) Windows 8 platform will put Microsoft on a whole new level: "If there is one company in the world that understands how to slay a dominant operating system, it is Microsoft."
His note continues: "Enter Microsoft. Windows 8 is Microsoft`s first genuine paradigm shift since Windows 95. It completely embraces web apps based upon technologies like HTML5, Javascript, CSS3, WebGL, et al. Web apps will cause a violently disruptive change for Microsoft and for the entire industry... The entire cellphone and computing ecosystem will be shaken to the ground."

In February Zabitsky recommended shorting Apple stock when it was at $450, slapping on a $270 price target on the shares. He's actually been at it for a while, which makes us wonder how his clients feel about him...
Ahead of the bell, Apple shares are up 1.2 percent to about $636.
