O2Micro® International Limited (Nasdaq: OIIM) was issued 16 claims under United States patent number 8,049,438 for its Light Source Driving Circuit methodology.
O2Micro's patented methodology drives light sources that enable LCD backlighting, needed to illuminate many display applications. Display applications comprise TVs, LCD monitors, notebooks, video cameras, mobile phones, PDAs, game machines, medical instruments, GPS navigation systems, and industrial machines.
The company also announced it was issued 28 claims under United States patent number 8,058,817 for its Power System invention.
O2Micro's patented invention provides a system of current regulators and filters to drive LEDs in traffic light, LCD TV, computer monitor, and other devices.
