Abbott (ABT) Shares Charge Higher as Investors Cheer Results of 'Co-Pilot' Study on ABT-450/r + ABT-333

Shares of Abbott (NYSE: ABT) surged nearly 2.8 percent to a 32-year high at $62.57 just after 10am ET following a release which showed different doses of ABT-450/r, plus ABT-333 and ribavirin administered for 12 weeks showed sustained virological response at 12 weeks post treatment (SVR12) in 95 percent and 93 percent of treatment-naive genotype 1 (GT1) patients. The results will officially be presented at the International Liver Congress™ 2012 (ILC 2012), the annual meeting of the European Association for the Study of the Liver (EASL), April 18-22 in Barcelona, Spain.

The stock last traded at $61.85, slightly off session highs.
