Notable 52-Week Highs and Lows of the Day 04/03: (VRNG) (UNH) (RHT) High; (KERX) (AEZS) (AONE) Low

This report is an intraday check of some of the more notable stocks that have hit a 52-week high or low so far today.

52-Week High:
  • Vringo, Inc. (AMEX: VRNG) high of $4.05. Shares began ripping higher Monday following the late-Friday filing of its 10-K with the U.S. SEC. In addition, Vringo filed to sell up to 2.7 million shares of its common stock on behalf of shareholders.

    Shares moved 31 percent today to the new high.

  • Unitedhealth Group (NYSE: UNH) high of $59.60. Unitedhealth continuing higher as many believe Obama's health care plan will gain Supreme Court approval. Requirement to have insurance would be a boost for insurance providers. Shares have been moving higher since last Monday, when deliberations began.

  • Red Hat, Inc. (NYSE: RHT) high of $62.24. Red Hat moved higher at the end of March following its fourth-quarter earnings. Today, shares are up an additional 2.4 percent as Cramer spoke with CEO James Whitehurst on Mad Money Monday night. For more color, click here.

  • Constellation Brands Inc. (NYSE: STZ) high of $24.79. Constellation Brands getting an upgrade by Goldman Sachs Tuesday, from Neutral to Buy with its price target moved from $22 to $29. For more color on the call, click here. Shares moved as much as 3.5 percent on the session following the upgrade.
52-Week Low:
  • Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (Nasdaq: KERX) low of $1.54. Keryx continuing lower after reporting that the Phase 3 "X-PECT" (Xeloda + Perifosine Evaluation in Colorectal cancer Treatment) clinical trial evaluating perifosine (KRX-0401) + capecitabine (Xeloda) in patients with refractory advanced colorectal cancer did not meet the primary endpoint of improving overall survival versus capecitabine + placebo.

    Shares were downgraded by Langenberg & Company to Hold Tuesday morning.

  • Æterna Zentaris (Nasdaq: AEZS) low of $0.64. Æterna Zentaris continuing lower from Keryx news issued yesterday. The stock was also downgraded at Summer Street, Rodman & Renshaw, and Desjardins today.

  • A123 Systems (Nasdaq: AONE) low of $0.85. A123 continuing lower from last week following the announcement of a $55 million buyback program for batteries made at a Michigan facility. Shares haven't closed higher since March 23rd.
