Amylin (AMLN) Won't Comment on Takeover Reports

Amylin Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: AMLN) has declined to comment on reports this morning that it is the target of a $3.5 billion takeover bid from Bristol-Myers Squibb (NYSE: BMY).
Company spokeswoman Alice Izzo said, "as a matter of company policy, Amylin does not comment on market rumors or speculation."
Shares of Amylin Pharmaceuticals are up 44 percent early Wednesday on the reports.
