UPDATE - Nomura Securities upgraded Dollar General (NYSE: DG) from Neutral to Buy, price target raised from $42 to $54.

Analyst, Aram Rubinson, said, "We increase our EPS estimates from $2.70 to $2.87 (Street $2.72) and from $3.00 to $3.40 (Street $3.15) for 2012 and 2013, respectively. By employing a layered approach to retailing, DG has created a matrix of opportunity with Consumables which should allow it to grow sales to existing customers by offering new categories like beer, wine, branded HPC, fresh produce, and high quality private label. DG is also finding ways to drive growth of new customers by expanding its traditional footprint by 7% per annum and by rolling out new formats like DG Market and DG Plus. New store growth (7%), comps (5%), deleverage and share buybacks should enable ~20% EPS growth for years to come."
