Following up on last week's report that cable operator Comcast snubbed Netflix (Nasdaq: NFLX) of a possible partnership, it looks like things are starting to get even more grim.
According to the NY Post, Netflix is seeing lack of interest from three major U.S .cable companies about carrying Netflix as an add-on or included service. The three are the DISH Network (Nasdaq: DISH), DirecTV (NYSE: DTV), and the aforementioned Comcast.
It might not be a surprise that DISH and Comcast (Nasdaq: CMCSA) refused the offer; both have similar services to what Netflix is delivering. No comment was issued on DirecTV's dismissal.
Together, the three account for about 56 percent of the 100 million pay-TV households, reports the Post.
Shares of Netflix are about 1 percent lower Monday morning.
