Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on Carnival Corporation (NYSE: CCL) price target of $36.00.

Analyst, Harry C. Curtis, said, "Going into the quarter, buy-side expectations for 2012 EPS were $1.85-$1.90. Revised guidance of $1.40-$1.70 is a modest disappointment, but includes a $(0.65) impact from the Costa brand, a $(0.40) impact from fuel costs and ForEx trends, and $(0.10) from lower earnings across the rest of the fleet. We believe that investors are more interested in improving booking trends, which have a positive read-through for 2013 yields."

Curtis lists three positive points include: 1) CCL holding its own on pricing - decides not to discount Costa brand tickets; 2) Yields in CCL’s North American brands are expected to improve; and 3) Total booking trends are already starting to recover.
