Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on CONSOL Energy (NYSE: CNX) price target of $45.00.

Analyst, Curt Woodworth, said, "Reducing 2012 EPS estimate from $2.90 to $1.30. Consol’s low vol coking coal segment generated ~$720 million in EBITDA during the strong 2011 market and we now forecast this number at $359 million for 2012. We have also revised our assumptions lower to account for the idling of Blacksville No. 2 as well as a more conservative outlook for high-vol met coal volumes. Our 2013E EPS goes from $2.50 to $1.75. Consol has taken a very proactive approach to managing the difficult end market environment, and as a result, we see less risk for additional EPS cuts over the course of the year."
