Wedbush is reiterating its Outperform rating and $48 price target on shares of eBay (NASDAQ: EBAY) following a meeting with PayPal's Mark Lavelle, PayPal's VP Strategy & Business Development and Jennifer Ceran, VP Investor Relations.
The firm notes the meeting left them even more confident as it believes the company's growth strategies are working better than ever. Wedbush believes retailers are frustrated with current payment methods and will be ever so willing to switch to PayPals.
An analyst at PayPal comments, "We believe the Bill Me Later acquisition may add an important direct driver of profit growth. We believe the BML platform will be critical to allowing customers to choose payment types before, during and after a transaction, including with grace periods and installments, which could become a key differentiator for PayPal."
Wedbush is bullish on eBay and PayPal as its forecasts earnings will total $2.34 per share on $13.8 billion in sales for the year, above the consensus of $2.29 and $13.8 billion.
