Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT) price target raised to $37.00.
Analyst, Rick Sherlund, said, " We will attend Microsoft’s unveiling of the Consumer Preview Release of Windows 8 today at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We expect this to be a big event. Microsoft shares have essentially reached our $32 price target, and we are rolling forward 12-months to a revised $37 price target. There is no change to our EPS estimates. The period between beta release (today) and Release to Manufacturing (we estimate end of July or August) of a major new version of Windows has tended to be the richest sweet spot in the product cycle, driving the stock 21% higher, on average. We derive a DCF value of $34, which we roll forward 12-months at the weighted average cost of capital to derive our DCF value of $37 per share one year from now."
