RadioShack (NYSE: RSH) shares are ticking slightly lower early Tuesday following in-line fourth-quarter numbers.
Revenue for the computer and mobile retail giant fell slightly to $1.39 billion, compared with expectations of $1.39 billion. Comps rose 2.2 percent, compared with just a 1.3 percent increase in last year's fourth quarter.
Total net income dropped about 79 percent from $57 million during last year's fourth quarter to $11.9 million, or 12 cents per share, in the most recent quarter. The Street was looking for EPS of 12 cents.
RadioShack pre-announced earnings on January 30, 2012.
Inventory rose $20.7 million to a total of $744.4 million at the end of the quarter, which RadioShack attributes to "increased investment in mobility products."
Though RadioShack said AT&T (NYSE: T) and Verizon (NYSE: VZ) postpaid mobile sales were strong, the company cautioned comps were offset by a "decline in Sprint (NYSE: S) and T-Mobile postpaid wireless sales, in addition to lower sales of digital cameras and digital music players."
Shares are down about 0.3 percent to $7.85.
