Jefferies Sees Vivus (VVUS) Qnexa FDA Panel Vote a Close Call

Analyst at Jefferies commented on Vivus (NASDAQ: VVUS) Wednesday, ahead of next week's FDA panel vote on Qnexa, which they see as a close call.

The analyst comments, "We reviewed panel votes from the four recent obesity panel meetings to determine how current members may vote next Wednesday on VVUS’ Qnexa. Voting history actually leans negatively. We are leaning slightly positively on the Qnexa panel, but we remain cautious on approval in April given our sense of FDA’s cautious stance on teratogenicity and cardiovascular concerns."

The firm maintained their Underperform rating and price target of $3.
