Wells Fargo initiates coverage on Walt Disney (NYSE: DIS) with a Market Perform. PT range $41-$43.
Wells analyst says, "We believe Disney is a well-run company with a management team that has employed the right long-term strategy of investing for growth, while maintaining price and returning free cash flow to shareholders. For this reason, we think Disney should trade at a premium, and it does...However, sentiment has been very positive on this stock, which has significantly outperformed the S&P 500, with DIS up 36% versus the S&P 500 up 20% since October 3, 2011. Furthermore, most of the positives we cite are long-term in nature. After the significant pop in the stock, coupled with little potential upside to near-term estimates, we view DIS's risk/reward proposition as less compelling at current levels."
"We also introduced our FY2012 and FY2013 EPS estimates of $2.90 and $3.32, versus the consensus of $2.91 and $3.33, respectively."
