Brean Murray Carret & Co. is reiterating its Buy rating on shares of Comcast Corp (NASDAQ: CMCSA) and is raising its price target on the company from $29 to $32 as it predicts the company will outperform in 2012.

Due to weak NBCU profit trends, the firm has lowered its FY11 EPS estimate from $1.51 to $1.49. For the fourth quarter, Brean Murray Carret forecasts EPS of $0.43 on $14.99 billion in total sales.

An analyst at Brean Murray Carret comments, "we think its core cable business will continue to outperform operationally and we believe the company is ahead of the curve in investing in its service profile. As a result, we believe it is one of the few MSO with a solid capital return story."

Brean Murray Carret did lower its FY12 EPS estimate from $1.85 to $1.75.

The company is scheduled to report its fourth quarter earnings on February 15 before the opening bell.
