Goldman Sachs raised estimates and its price target on Morgan Stanley (NYSE: MS) from $19 to $20 following Q4 results saying the company is showing signs of life amid market share gains and revenue growth. However, they are maintaining a Neutral rating.

Goldman increased estimates for 2012/2013 to $1.90/$2.25 from $1.80/ $2.15. They also introduce 2014 EPS estimate of $2.50.

"The combination of dampened expectations and a more sanguine outlook for 2012 by management on the conference call drove upside in MS shares following the 4Q earnings report, and we adjust our 2012 EPS estimates to include a solid credit-driven start the year, as well as positive commentary on 1Q to-date from both MS and peers," the firm commented. "Our enthusiasm is held in check, however, as the activity data we can observe on a daily basis has been fairly weak across most trading assets."
