Nomura Securities maintains a 'Neutral' on Juniper Networks (NYSE: JNPR) price target lowered from $21 to $19.50.

Nomura analyst, Stuart Jeffrey, said, "Juniper Networks negatively pre-announced Q4 results. The company expects Q4 revenues to be in the $1.11-$1.12bn range and EPS in the 26-28c range, which compared with our estimate of $1.21bn and 35c and consensus of $1.2bn and 34c. The quarter was attributable to weaker-than-expected router demand, particularly in the US. This is consistent with our negative view on carrier spending – we forecast a 6% decline in wireline and 1% decline in wireless spending in 2012. Q1 could see slight improvement, but a recovery is unlikely until 2013. Our 2012 estimates are reduced to $4.70bn and $1.27 from $4.95bn/ $1.41, while 2013 is reduced to $5.25bn/$1.51 from $5.51bn/$1.61."
