Goldman Sachs lifted estimates and its price target on Conviction Buy-List rated Monsanto (NYSE: MON) from $87 to $90 following better-than-expected Q1 results.
"In our opinion, strong 1Q outperformance and conservative outlook are continued validation of our thesis that the "beat & raise" MON of old is back.," the analyst said. They see continued market share gains in key corn and soy crops in this year driven by new product adoption.
The firm raised FY2012/FY13/FY14 EPS estimates by $0.02/$0.05/$0.02 to $3.63/$4.50/$5.20.
