MON technicals Disregard my previous comment. The techncals on MON are wrong. The stock is following the AG sector up and out-performing the market by a wide margin. Still, MON is not a buy.

MON Technicals Today, The technicals on MON confirm today's sell rating by Ticonderoga Securities, RSI and stochastics show overbought and negative divergences with MACD and Chaikin Osc. I'm buying Jan 80 puts during today's (12/01/09) rally.

Barrons Pump I sold MON this morning, in part because of the Barrons pump article. Yes, this is the kind of reporting Barrons is known for. A pump from them is a pretty reliable contra-indicator. Meanwhile DuPont and Syngenta are both set to make market share comebacks. For a pure play in ag, I'd go with Syngenta, very profitable and conservatively run company. DuPont is still more industrial than ag, but could make a nice run on an improving world economy. No doubt Monsanto's seed business will be a money machine for many years to come. If MON drops into the 60s, I might jump back in.

Biased view, a plug for Monsanto? This article sounds more like an ad for Monsanto's upcoming product launches and less of an objective analysis. This is the kind of reporting that Barrons is known for?
