NSTAR (NST), Northeast Utilities (NU) Shares Flirting with 52-Week Highs Amid New Overweight Ratings at Barclays

Shares of NSTAR (NYSE: NST) are continuing to outperform the broader stock market Thursday. After rising more than 0.5 percent on Wednesday (amid a large sell-off in the US's major averages), the stock is up 0.8 percent this morning. Shares are now within pennies of a 52-week high at $47.45.
A Barclays note from Wednesday morning may being helping the stock recently. The firm resumed coverage on NST with an 'Overweight' rating (from an 'Equalweight') and raised the stock's price target from $40 to $49.
Barclays also did the same thing with Northeast Utilities (NYSE: NU). Shares of NU closed a penny lower Wednesday and are up 0.75 percent in early trade Thursday. Barclays raised its price target from $31 to $39.
