Enbridge Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSE: EEP) ("the Partnership") announced today that the underwriters have exercised their option to purchase an additional 1.275 million Class A Common Units to cover over-allotments in connection with the previously announced public offering of 8.5 million of its Class A Common Units that closed on December 7, 2011.
The Partnership expects net proceeds from the exercise of the over-allotment option to be approximately $38.1 million. The Partnership expects to use the net proceeds from the offering, including the proceeds from the exercise of the over-allotment option, to fund a portion of its capital expansion projects, for general partnership purposes or any combination of such purposes.
