Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on Aetna (NYSE: AET) price target raised $1 to $55.

Barclays analyst says, "Aetna hosted its annual investor day in New York yesterday with a thorough review of the business and prospects. We would argue that Aetna has one of the clearest current operating strategies in our coverage universe. The company speaks eloquently around its plans for a post reform world in 2014, and demonstrates its unique positioning for the new markets."

"As a result of the investor day, we are increasing our EPS estimates for 2011 and 2012, and also modestly increasing our price target. First, we are taking our 2011 EPS estimate to $5.15, up from $5.00 previously, consistent with the company's updated guidance. Next, we are boosting our 2012 EPS estimates 10 cents to $5.00, also consistent with the company's new, more targeted estimate."
