Barclays maintains an 'Overweight' on Danaher (NYSE: DHR) price target of $54.00.

Barclays analyst says, "Last Monday we wrote a piece in which we argue that many industrial companies are stuck in the past, paralyzed by macro concerns, with slow and sleepy business models. We believe DHR is not one of those companies. On the contrary, we consider DHR impressive in a different way than most industrials. It's an opportunistic buyer of assets, willing to buy in out-of-favor sectors (e.g. Beckman) and take risk in challenging deals (e.g. AB Sciex). It's willing to think out of the box on assets (e.g. Tools JV) and willing to make difficult decisions that prior owners avoid (headcount reductions at TEK)."

"We believe the real risk in DHR is that it's getting big and getting complicated. Over time this could become an increasing challenge. In the meantime, in a sector that is quickly becoming catalyst light, DHR still has levers."
