Knight Capital Group, Inc. (NYSE: KCG) today announced equities and foreign exchange volume statistics for the month of November 2011.
Equities
For the month of November 2011, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.8%, the S&P 500 decreased 0.5% and Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 2.4%. During the same period, the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) averaged 31.9.
Knight's equities volumes were as follows:
In equities, there were 20.5 trading days in November 2011, 21 days in October 2011 and 20.5 days in November 2010.
Foreign Exchange
Equities
For the month of November 2011, the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased 0.8%, the S&P 500 decreased 0.5% and Nasdaq Composite Index decreased 2.4%. During the same period, the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX) averaged 31.9.
Knight's equities volumes were as follows:
- Average daily U.S. equities dollar volume traded in November 2011 was $27.4 billion, down approximately 15.8% from $32.5 billion in October 2011 and up approximately 6.9% from $25.6 billion in November 2010.
- Average daily U.S. equities trade volume in November 2011 was 4.1 million, down approximately 14.2% from 4.8 million in October 2011, and up approximately 15.8% from 3.6 million in November 2010.
- Average daily U.S. equities share volume in November 2011 was 2.8 billion, down approximately 9.0% from 3.1 billion in October 2011, and down approximately 54.1% from 6.1 billion in November 2010.
In equities, there were 20.5 trading days in November 2011, 21 days in October 2011 and 20.5 days in November 2010.
Foreign Exchange
- Hotspot FX recorded average daily notional dollar value traded in November 2011 of $55.7 billion, down approximately 18.4% from $68.3 billion in October 2011, and up approximately 20.7% from $46.2 billion in November 2010.
