Needham & Company reinstates coverage on Hologic (NASDAQ: HOLX) with a Buy. PT $22.00.

Needham analyst says, "We think a 3-D mammography upgrade cycle is
imminent and likely to drive the shares higher just as a transition from film to digital did a few years ago. Outside of the mammography field, the company is well positioned to benefit from the general economic recovery."

"For FY12 we are forecasting revenue growth of 7%, to $1.923 B. These estimates are consistent with management’s guidance for revenue of $1.9-1.925. For FY13 we are forecasting revenue growth of 7%, to $2.1 B, compared to the consensus of $2.0 B...Our FY12 pro forma estimate, which excludes non-cash expenses like depreciation, amortization and certain interest expenses, is $1.35 compared to the consensus of $1.36. For FY13 our pro forma EPS estimate is $1.48 compared to the consensus of $1.45."
