Deutsche Bank initiates coverage on Kosmos Energy (NYSE: KOS) with a Hold. PT $17.00.

Deutsche analyst says, "KOS is the model of a successful exploration company, having discovered ~500mm boe (net) of resource worth over $5.0 billion in Ghana since 2007, as well as reaching 1st oil at Jubilee in record time. Ghana upside remains, with ~300mmboe net potential to be tested in next 18 months. However, a diminishing materiality of exploration and the current focus on appraisal & development, and potential game-changer Morocco still 12+ months away leaves us with a more modest risk-reward and near-term performance that feels increasingly dependent on crude price."
