Nomura Securities maintains a 'Buy' on Maxim Integrated Products (NASDAQ: MXIM) price target of $28.00
Nomura analyst, Romit Shah, said, "We hosted meetings recently with Bruce Kiddoo (CFO), Matthew Murphy (SVP, communications; former head of worldwide sales), and Paresh Maniar (director of investor relations). Key takeaways: While channel inventory destocking should be finished by December, visibility into the March quarter is low. However, if the marketplace is seasonal in Q1, Maxim would expect to be as well. Wireless smartphones should continue to drive strong sales performance in the first half of 2012. The company is active in the market repurchasing shares and we believe the company will raise the dividend next year. Maxim has been a good name to own year-to-date (up 13% versus the SOX down 6%), but we expect the stock to continue to outperform."
