UPDATE - UBS initiates coverage on Monsanto (NYSE: MON) with a Neutral. PT $72.00
UBS analyst says, "We expect Monsanto to book earnings growth of 20% in fiscal 2012 as its new suite of products for row crop growers continues to penetrate the market. Product attributes include higher yielding seeds, advanced insect protection, the elimination of some structural refuges, and more options for weed control."
"Even against big cap medical biotech companies, Monsanto’s recent price to estimated forward 12-months earnings ratio is 8.5 multiples higher, and Monsanto has a higher EV/EBITDA ratio as well. Monsanto’s stock price is at risk of losing value should the multiples contract, an increasing risk as the rate of earnings growth slows."
