Shares of First Solar (Nasdaq: FSLR) are getting smacked Tuesday afternoon following a surprise management change from the company.
According to a mid-day release, First Solar has decided to part ways with CEO Rob Gillette. No reason or comments were made on the departure of Gillette, who joined First Solar in October 2009. The company told StreetInsider.com it will not comment on the decision until its next quarterly conference call next week.
Shares are now down nearly 22 percent from Monday's closing price.
